ABOUT US
WWT Castle Espie restores and protects wetlands so wildlife, people, and communities can thrive. The centre combines conservation, education, and visitor experiences on Strangford Lough, with a focus on nature access, habitat restoration, and environmental wellbeing.
IMPACT
Castle Espie restores and protects wetland habitats, turning a former quarry into a thriving reserve for wildlife, carbon storage, and flood resilience. It delivers curriculum-linked education, public access to nature, and wellbeing benefits through safe, accessible visitor experiences. Its eco-friendly centre, habitat management, and events with stakeholders show clear environmental and community impact beyond intention.
