ABOUT US
Oakfield Park is a carbon negative visitor attraction which has planted over 40,000 native trees, includes 6 acres or wildflower and a hedge maze. Buffers restaurant serves produce from our own kitchen garden and the train circumnavigates the estate for you to enjoy at your leisure.
OUR IMPACT
Oakfield Park, restored by Sir Gerry and Lady Robinson since 1998, has transformed a historic Georgian Deanery into a vibrant, award-winning destination. The park champions sustainability through conservation, community engagement, and reinvestment in ongoing development.
Facilities like Buffers Restaurant use produce from the estate, supporting local supply chains and circular business practices. Accessible design, dog-friendly policies, and extensive trails make it inclusive for all visitors.
Environmental efforts include planting 50,000 native trees, creating wildflower meadows, and developing wetlands, boosting biodiversity. The park’s steam train now runs on food-waste-based fuel, reducing its carbon footprint.
Educational features include guided tours, interactive children’s trails, and interpretive signage, fostering awareness of nature and heritage for all ages.
