Amupakin
OUR EXPERIENCES
Amupakin is a non-profit organization founded with the sole purpose of preserving the ancestral traditions and customs of our Kichwa Amazonian nationality, primarily linked to the knowledge and practice of natural medicine for health. Casa Amupakin is a place to explore the traditions of Kichwa culture in the Upper Napo region. We offer experience packages and guided tours with demonstrations of the diverse customs and ancestral traditions of our community, including traditional food. You can also stay in one of our cabins to spend a few days near the chakra. While we are not a hotel business, we open our doors to those who wish to engage with our community. Additionally, we provide volunteer spaces of any kind, whether for research, traditional knowledge, or other purposes. Our rates may vary based on the number of visitors or the purpose of their visit, and we are open to all possibilities to ensure quality service and an enriching cultural experience.
ABOUT US
Our objectives include:
- Preserve and strengthen ancestral knowledge in: Health, Culture, and Medicine.
- Enhance healthcare services by implementing the techniques of our wise ancestors and applying the principles of natural medicine. - Improve the quality of Maternal and Child Health services in rural and underserved urban areas.
THE ASSOCIATION OF KICHWA MIDWIVES OF UPPER NAPO "AMUPAKIN". It will serve as the foundation to achieve better community organization, functioning as a unit of communities with the aim of valuing and recognizing our culture. It projects to transmit the wise knowledge of midwives to current and future generations through the School of Ancestral Knowledge of the Culture of the Napo Runas and of AMUPAKIN.
OUR IMPACT
We accompany every stage of pregnancy with knowledge in natural medicine and ancestral midwifery passed down from generation to generation. We have been working to provide cost-free care to Kichwa women in a vulnerable state. This effort enables us to offer quality care and benefit more families with natural medicine and ancestral techniques while preserving our knowledge through practical application.
