The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Access Trax
Access Trax is an investee of the UnTours Foundation through its Reset Tourism Fund, which provides accessible investment capital to inclusive, sustainable, and community-enhancing tourism businesses.
OUR EXPERIENCES
Access Trax empowers people with mobility disabilities to easily access outdoor spaces and recreation using our lightweight, portable access mats. Terrain such as sand, grass, gravel and dirt can be barriers to engaging in natural spaces. Places and accommodations can become more accessible with the use of Access Trax mats for a stable walkway, promoting inclusion and belonging for visitors with physical disabilities. Available for sale and rent, Access Trax mats have been used by families, businesses, events and government entities globally since 2018.
ABOUT US
Access Trax is on a mission to empower people of all abilities to easily access the outdoors and recreation without barriers. Inspired by adaptive surfers in Southern California, the mission started as a grad school project that evolved into a social-impact business.
OUR IMPACT
Access Trax is a social-impact business that believes in impact not only through our products and services, but through partnerships that serve the community. Access Trax is a founding member of the Mobility Community Access Partners- a coalition of 20+ organizations (for-profit, non-profit & public) that created the first ever San Diego Adaptive Sports & Recreation Fair, an annual free event that provides opportunities for people with physical disabilities. We also advocate for improved accessibility at beaches and public spaces and have provided over $75,000 of in-kind services and sponsorships for adaptive recreation in the community. We are proud to help connect people with disabilities to outdoor spaces and experiences that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access- thereby reducing inequalities and promoting health and well-being. Some specific use cases include music festivals, sporting events, beach resorts, weddings and parks.
