Argaty Red Kites
OUR EXPERIENCES
We provide ranger-led visits on our rewilding estate - central Scotland's only red kite reintroduction site. With photography hides for red squirrels and woodland birds, and bespoke buggy tours of the farm. In summer, we offer exclusive evening tours to our reintroduced beaver families.
ABOUT US
We are a working family and livestock farm aiming to show that food production and active wildlife conservation can go hand in hand. Everything we do is aimed at conserving and managing our land in an environmentally friendly way. Any visitor experience always has as a priority the welfare of the wild creatures who live on Argaty.
OUR IMPACT
We are part of the UK red kite reintroduction project, where the red kites are wild. We do not handle our wild birds; instead, we are advocates for our species and always have a ranger available to explain their natural behaviour to our visitors. We are the first site in Scotland to be licensed to bring in beavers, which needed to be moved out of conflict and onto our farm. They live naturally with us and are not enclosed in any way. This is an important and landmark move in the fight against climate change, as the beavers are natural water managers, slowing floodwater with their dams.
