PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ Foundation
OUR EXPERIENCES
PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ offers programs for land-based learning! These programs take place on our restoration sites where we encourage groups to join us in doing healing work on the land in combination with sharing cultural and ecological teachings. We have hosted many diverse groups including classes from primary school to university level, community organizations, and international groups.
ABOUT US
Our mission is to provide participatory education opportunities about traditional and healthy food systems to contribute to the restoration and revitalization of native ecosystems in the W̱SÁNEĆ homelands and to promote food security and indigenous food sovereignty in the W̱SÁNEĆ community and beyond.
OUR IMPACT
PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ Nursery & Garden is the home of our native plants & garden program for the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board students, located at the ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School (Brentwood Bay, BC). We also offer ecosystem restoration based programs that welcome students and volunteers to do this healing work in the W̱SÁNEĆ homelands. Program participants can learn many important land stewardship skills, all while outdoors and in a supportive environment.
