Klein Goederust Boutique Winery

Experience a unique boutique winery in Franschhoek, featuring exquisite wines, a rich heritage, and authentic South African cuisine in a historic setting.

OUR EXPERIENCES
We are a boutique winery located in Franschhoek, offering an exceptional range of six wines as part of our standard tasting option. We sell our wines and ship them worldwide.

ABOUT US
Klein Goederust is the first and only 100% black-owned wine farm in Franschhoek Valley, embodying resilience and the "new South African" dream.

In 2019, entrepreneur Paul Siguqa, son of former farm worker Nomaroma Siguqa, acquired the 10-hectare estate. He retained its original 1905 name while honoring his IsiXhosa heritage by incorporating the Southern Ground Hornbill, his family crest, into the logo. The historic farm building was carefully restored, blending tradition with modern elegance.

The 1905 cellar now houses a diverse wine selection, including the flagship Nomaroma MCC, honoring Paul’s mother. The 117-year-old tasting room preserves remnants of the "dop system," a reminder of past injustices. Klein Goederust is committed to healing, community upliftment, and empowerment.

Its on-site restaurant offers an authentic South African buffet, featuring spit-roasted lamb, curried fish, farmhouse bread, roosterkoek off the braai, and malva pudding—a warm yet refined dining experience.

OUR IMPACT
We restored a non-operational farm into a fully functional farming business to employ local staff and add value to the area. We conduct environmental inspections to ensure that any development on the farm does not negatively impact the environment.
