Na Muen Sri Community Enterprise
OUR EXPERIENCES
Na Muen Sri Community Enterprise is a learning center rich in experience and expertise in local weaving, with a heritage spanning over 200 years. Beyond offering high-quality handwoven textiles, it also houses a textile museum that showcases the history and stories of traditional weaving patterns—particularly those that represent the unique identity of the community. Visitors are welcome to explore and immerse themselves in local culture, learn about traditional weaving using ancient looms, and purchase handcrafted textile products.
In addition, the center offers local cuisine and snacks, including Khao Bao Yod Muang—a native rice variety from Trang province known for its high nutritional value. This rice has been registered with a Geographical Indication (GI), recognizing it as a signature product of the region.
ABOUT US
We aim to preserve and carry on traditional weaving techniques and patterns while promoting job creation within the community. By supporting the sharing of weaving knowledge with the general public, we help ensure that this cultural heritage remains vibrant, accessible, and economically sustainable for future generations.
OUR IMPACT
The Na Muen Sri Community Enterprise raises awareness about the preservation of local weaving traditions, which are part of the community’s ancestral wisdom. It also generates employment and income for community members.
Handweaving using traditional looms is an eco-friendly production method that reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, leftover fabric scraps are repurposed into new products, adding value to what would otherwise be waste.
