The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Artlink CLG
OUR EXPERIENCES
Founded in 1992, Artlink is Inishowen’s longest-established professional visual arts organization. Artist-led and community-focused, we foster meaningful connections between artists and the public through imaginative exhibitions, engaging projects, and dynamic events. We host international artist residencies, organize public art experiences, and offer a range of arts and crafts workshops and masterclasses. At Artlink, we believe art should be accessible, inspiring, and a vital part of community life.
ABOUT US
OUR VISION
We envision a future where rural areas in Ireland have a vibrant, sustainable arts community, confident in the uniqueness of its voice.
OUR MISSION
Artlink’s mission is to provide the expertise and resources needed to build a strong, sustainable visual arts culture and to contribute to the artistic and economic ecology of the North West of Ireland.
OUR AIMS
We aim to establish Fort Dunree as a focal point of artistic interest along the Wild Atlantic Way and to develop fully accessible arts facilities at Dunree, serving the people of Inishowen and the wider region. Central to our vision is ensuring the long-term sustainability of Artlink and all its activities, so that we can continue to support artists, engage communities, and contribute meaningfully to the cultural and economic life of the North West of Ireland.
OUR IMPACT
For over 30 years, Artlink has been a leader in community arts, committed to creatively empowering the local community and broadening participation in the visual arts. We engage a wide cross-section of people in our projects, residencies, and exhibitions, all rooted in place-based practice.
Many of our initiatives highlight the history and nature of Fort Dunree and Inishowen, helping preserve local knowledge, traditions, and cultural heritage. We create immersive experiences that deepen understanding of the people and places that define the region.
Aligned with Nature Positive Travel & Tourism, we support environmental conservation, biodiversity, and carbon reduction, partnering with nonprofits and social enterprises to make a positive impact through tourism.
Through our Potting Shed and Amach Anseo community garden, we’ve developed creative, hands-on projects that nurture both ecological awareness and artistic expression.
