The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Juneteenth and Beyond Guided Tours
OUR EXPERIENCES
Juneteenth and Beyond African American History Guided Tours is the first and only Black history guided tour business on Galveston Island. We offer the cultural heritage traveler a deep dive into what African Americans on Galveston, Island and in Texas were thinking, feeling, and doing before, during and after Emancipation, June 19, 1865, also known as Juneteenth. Our tours help travelers learn the untold stories of the rich and unique African American culture the grew and took shape on the sands of Galveston Island.
ABOUT US
We help travelers make the most of their historical journey in Galveston. Our tours offer a pleasant experience in our 12-seat passenger van. We also accommodate large groups such as family reunions and conference goers. Our guides step onto buses and provide engaging tours. And on-line presentations can be arranged.
OUR IMPACT
Travelers who tour with Juneteenth and Beyond visit sites where African American history was nurtured in Galveston. They learn facts about slavery, emancipation, Jim Crow, segregation and integration that are not taught in schools. These stories of resiliency and determination uplift and inspire travelers who often acknowledge that they are learning, for the very first time, meaningful events about people who were marginalized by society but continued to persevere and thrive. This is evidenced by the many positive reviews they have posted on Trip Advisor.
