The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Secret Paradise Maldives
OUR EXPERIENCES
Our local island guided tours offer much more than a conventional Maldives beach holiday, immersing travelers in the culture and traditions of the Maldives, its amazing marine life, friendly local communities and provide a greater understanding and knowledge of our fragile environment. One of our local tour leaders accompanies travellers throughout the tour, both groups and FIT, allowing access to experiences most guests visiting the Maldives will not encounter.
ABOUT US
As a unique operator in the Maldives we are mindful of ensuring we promote local tourism in line with Maldives culture and beliefs. We respect the communities who open their homes to our guests. Through education of both guests and locals we strive to protect the environment in which we operate, and limit wherever possible any negative impact preserving this country's unique location for generations to come.We are mindful of ensuring we promote local tourism in line with Maldivian culture and traditions. Through education of our team, our guests and locals, we aim to protect the environment and limit where ever possible any negative impact to local life. As a team our goal is to inspire, inform, and demonstrate to our partners, our guests and the tourism industry as a whole, that we are committed to offering only responsible and positive travel experiences. We believe that people, communication and education are the foundation of Sustainable Tourism.
This is the reason that we have built our business on four communities: – Our Guests – Our Team – Local Islanders – NGO and charity organizations
OUR IMPACT
We actively work in partnerships with local NGOs and marine organizations, playing a vital role in contributing to the preservation of the Maldives marine environment. We support Maldives Manta Conservation Programme (MMCP) in support of their RahVeshi Fund (Local Island Fund for the Environment – LIFE). The RahVeshi Fund, initiated by MMCP, supports conservation initiatives on local islands, providing communities the opportunity for training, mentorship, resources, and job opportunities within marine research, education and conservation.
In 2023 we participated in The Coral Festival organized by The Maldives Coral Institute. The festival designed to bring together participants and attendees from the local island community, respected local and international coral scientists, NGOs, marine organisations, ocean experts, and the tourism industry. We supported MIYARU, an NGO dedicated to the protection of predatory shark populations in the Maldives. The partnership provided the opportunity for MIYARU to secure a place to join a Maldives shark research expedition, operated by the University of Milano-Bicocca and MaRHE Center in December of this year.
We were awarded silver at the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT) Responsible Tourism Awards in the category of Best for Nature-Positive Tourism. The award recognizes our dedication to reducing negative impacts and positively impacting the maintenance of the natural environment and biodiversity. 2023 saw our longstanding collaborations with Save the Beach Maldives and Maldives Whale Shark Research Program continue to flourish. Both NGOs joined our Marine Conservation Cruise. 2024 we have launched additional conservation cruises with experts from Manta Trust and OLP on board.
