OUR EXPERIENCES
Viaggi Solidali offers the Migrantour project in Turin, Florence and Rome, intercultural itineraries designed and led by people with a migrant background to highlight the contribution of migration to cultural heritage, promote social cohesion and foster intercultural dialogue.

The project focuses on the importance of encounter and intercultural dialogue, with the idea that an urban tourism itinerary led by “intercultural guides” can be an innovative and original way to get to know the territory and reflect on the relationship between cultures and people in the contemporary world.

ABOUT US
Since 2004, Viaggi Solidali has been organising trips in accordance with the principles of the Italian Association for Responsible Tourism (AITR), of which we are founding members. We are committed to promoting good practices in responsible tourism through dissemination and training activities, in collaboration with associations, public administrations, schools and universities.

We have participated in development cooperation projects, carrying out interventions linked to the sustainable development of the territory according to the principles of responsible tourism.

Since 2009, we have designed and developed the ‘Migrantour’ project, which was awarded the World Responsible Tourism Award in 2016 as one of the most innovative practices at an international level and in 2018 by the SIAA (Italian Society of Applied Anthropology).

Since 2014, Migrantour has become a European network, coordinated by Viaggi Solidali.

OUR IMPACT
In over 15 years of the project, Migrantour has trained hundreds of women and men as intercultural guides and guided thousands of people (students, citizens and national and international tourists) to build together, step by step, a more inclusive society.
