Belfast Traditional Music Trail

Live traditional music, storytelling and dance connect travelers with Belfast’s cultural heritage through an immersive guided walking tour.

OUR EXPERIENCES

Join Belfast's only walking tour focused on Irish traditional music! With two local musicians as guides, discover this rich living tradition delivered through live music, stories and dance in this unique and interactive 2.5-hour experience. Walk through cobbled streets, pass by important musical landmarks and step inside some of the city's oldest buildings. At each stop you will be treated to a performance of traditional tunes, songs and stories, all of which make up your own personal ‘session’. Every Saturday at 2pm, discover why Belfast is the best city for traditional music!

ABOUT US

The Belfast Traditional Music Trail offers a unique experience of traditional music, giving both locals and visitors a chance to discover Belfast's vibrant music scene, often inaccessible without 'insider knowledge'. This walking tour aims to deliver high-quality live music to our guests while supporting local businesses and offering regular, fair employment to local artists.

IMPACT

The Belfast Traditional Music Trail was set up to provide a consistent experience of traditional music in Belfast, giving both locals and visitors a chance to discover the city's extraordinarily vibrant music scene, often only accessible through 'insider knowledge'. Thanks to a weekly public tour, we are able to give a wider audience a chance to better understand this rich living tradition while making meaningful connections with our guides. In return, the latter are empowered to share their art, passion and personal experience while receiving regular, fair employment. Taking place in some of Belfast's oldest buildings, we hope to support and promote local businesses who host traditional music sessions and concerts on a regular basis. We strive to maintain an equal balance of gender and age in our pool of artists and work with a paperless booking system.
