OUR EXPERIENCES
Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is a center for Japanese art and culture in South Florida. Morikami invites guests to discover South Florida’s history, connection with Japan, and explore a series of six diverse gardens, each inspired by a different historical period and style of Japanese gardening. Visitors experience traditional and contemporary Japanese culture through engaging exhibits, varied educational programs and seasonal events, a world-class bonsai display, Pan-Asian cuisine, and a distinctive museum store.
ABOUT US
Our mission at Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is to engage a diverse audience by presenting Japanese cultural experiences that educate and inspire. Located in a tranquil natural setting, Morikami invites visitors to explore its many facets and discover Florida’s heritage and its connection with Japan. The Morikami Museum is fully accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
OUR IMPACT
Upon opening, Morikami became a living monument of a century-old connection, building a bridge of cultural understanding between Japan and South Florida. With rotating exhibitions, tea ceremonies performed monthly (October through May) in the Seishin-an tea house and educational outreach programs with local schools and organizations, Morikami strives to spread appreciation for the living culture of Japan.
