Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum

Climb a historic lighthouse, explore WWII exhibits, and enjoy nature trails in a lush setting that showcases 8,000 years of rich cultural heritage.

OUR EXPERIENCES
At the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, visitors can climb the historic 1860 lighthouse, tour a restored World War II building turned museum, and explore 8,000 years of history through exhibits and outdoor experiences. The lush waterfront grounds feature a Seminole Chickee, the 1892 Tindall Pioneer Homestead, and nature trails that highlight the area’s rich cultural and environmental heritage.

As a nonprofit, we offer volunteer opportunities in guest services, education, and special events to help preserve and share the unique history of the Loxahatchee River region.

ABOUT US
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum is operated by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1972. Since 1994, we’ve managed the lighthouse under a long-term lease with the U.S. Coast Guard. We are also proud partners in the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area, part of the National Conservation Lands.

Mission & Vision
The Loxahatchee River Historical Society preserves and shares the region’s 8,000 years of history, culture, and nature. We maintain one of the nation’s best-kept lighthouses and engage the public through events, exhibits, and educational programs that connect people to the past, present, and future of the Loxahatchee River region.

OUR IMPACT
The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum preserves and shares 8,000 years of cultural history—from Indigenous communities to pioneer settlers and military heritage—through inclusive storytelling and educational programs. Located within a federally protected Outstanding Natural Area, we promote environmental stewardship through partnerships, interpretive programs, and eco-conscious events. We prioritize accessibility and inclusion with ADA-compliant facilities, multilingual materials in development, and outreach efforts that ensure all visitors feel welcome and represented.
