Nexes Interculturals SCCL- Migrantour Barcelona

Experience Barcelona through guided walks led by locals with migrant backgrounds, sharing personal stories and the city's rich cultural diversity.

OUR EXPERIENCES
Nexes Interculturals offers Migrantour Barcelona, guided walks led by people with migrant backgrounds who share both their personal stories and the history of Barcelona from an intercultural perspective. These tours highlight the city’s cultural diversity and challenge stereotypes, inviting travelers to reflect on migration and social justice.

ABOUT US
Nexes Interculturals SCCL is a non-profit organization that promotes informal education for peace, intercultural learning, inclusion and global justice through the design and management of projects and educational services for the local and international community.

OUR IMPACT
Since 2021, Migrantour Barcelona has impacted over 3,000 people through meaningful, person-centered experiences that promote intercultural understanding and social cohesion. The project has trained 45 individuals with migrant background, equipping them with critical thinking, tools for public speaking, storytelling, and community engagement. Migrantour also strengthens the local social economy by partnering with migrant-led initiatives and small businesses. We have especially engaged students (from primary schools to universities), youth groups, NGOs, and international visitors. In response to societal needs, we have developed complementary experiences—such as a creative workshop to reflect on emotions and themes from the tour, Migrantour Kids (adapted for children), and Migrantfood (linking migration and gastronomy)—which deepen awareness on migration, sustainability, and anti-racism from different perspectives, contributing to a more inclusive and reflective urban culture.
