The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Brucefield Estate
OUR EXPERIENCES
Step back in time to a medieval barony and wildlife estate – where you can fulfil your aims for a history and nature trip to Scotland all at one destination. For travel trade-day experiences, relax in the private home to family of Robert the Bruce, discover Royal, Jacobite and Scottish history and story-telling on a personal visit with the owner. Add an C18th Outlander Feast with gaelic traditional music or take a ride in the last remaining Morris 6 Tourer from 1930 – and you have the perfect base for a multigenerational family visit.
Easily accessed yet superbly isolated, there is an exceptional diversity of conservation-grade wildlife habitats amongst the 1000 acres to explore. We offer travel-trade day nature experiences including no-dig native tree planting, bug vacuuming, bat safaris and creative nature workshops.
We have three contemporary woodland cabins with Scottish designer interiors – guests can undertake our wildlife activities or relax by their firepit with a private-chef dinner kit or picnic hamper.
ABOUT US
We are a private estate run by the family of Robert the Bruce. Nowhere so close to Scotland’s major cities provides day tours and sustainable designer accommodation set within such a captivating historic and nature landscape.
We’re a small team managing our 1000 acres of semi-ancient woodland, arable farming, grassland and wildlife meadows. Our experiences and workshops reflect what’s special about the estate as well as the interests of our small team: Victoria leads the team with Stephen managing buildings and land, Ania looking after guests and housekeeping, and Hanneke our heritage and archive specialist. Victoria is your travel trade contact.
OUR IMPACT
The story of Scotland over the centuries is told through the lens of this estate—whether through estate archives or pretzels we bring history to life for all ages and especially for those researching their heritage to central Scotland. From a wildlife perspective, we are in year five of our 10-year Wildlife Plan which improves our diverse wildlife habitats, unique in central Scotland supporting a wide range of conservation species including red squirrels and pine martens and provides guests with inspiration to take back home for their own projects.
We have facilitated a Rural Skills course for local young people with additional support needs to provide training so they can continue to much-needed rural traditional skills employment. We also partner with a local carer organization to provide respite overnight stays.
