ABOUT US
Carob House is a holistic grassroot initiative aiming to reimagine the way food is produced and consumed in Jordan by engaging communities in inspiring food experiences, from farm to table. Envisioning the world with clean, fair, and regenerative food systems, we strive to heal our land and revitalize local food traditions that ensure a future where every link in the food chain contributes to the health of the planet and the wellbeing of its inhabitants.

OUR IMPACT
At Carob House, we're building a community with local farmers, agrifood producers, and consumers to trace our products from seed to table. Our efforts create a cultural food hub, connecting producers to high-value markets, turning their skills and produce into valuable goods and experiences. This initiative supports local economies and preserves our culinary heritage, threatened by global supply chains and urban sprawl. We also promote sustainable farming practices, helping farmers restore land and protect the environment for future generations. A key success story is our sourcing of carob molasses from Al Wahadneh village, where we support a family keeping an ancient tradition alive. This not only boosts their income but also conserves native carob trees and encourages traditional practices. Our engagement with agroforestry NGOs aims to plant new carob trees, ensuring sustainability. Our model also leverages slow tourism and informal education to add value to our local food system. On our farm, we pioneer water-efficient techniques and a unique agroforestry nursery, saving water and promoting low-maintenance farming methods. These innovations enable us to support farmers in integrating agroforestry, enhancing biodiversity, and reducing water use. Through these efforts, Carob House stands as a beacon of sustainability, community collaboration, and heritage preservation.
