OUR IMPACT
Prince of Whales is a Climate Positive company dedicated to reducing emissions by 50% before 2030 and achieving Net Zero by 2050. We offset 110% of our carbon footprint and have reduced emissions per passenger by over 25% since 2021 through innovations like fuel-efficient toroidal propellers. Our Zero Waste policy ensures all beverages are compostable or recyclable, and all food is unpackaged. We’ve contributed over $100,000 to environmental organizations, funded two major shoreline cleanups, and partnered with Sea Smart to provide educational resources and summer camps for Tsleil-Waututh Nation’s children. In 2023, we sponsored Ocean Wise’s $30,000 winter field study to support orca conservation, with further research planned through 2025. We promote sustainable transportation, support community initiatives, and collaborate with Destination Management Organizations to amplify local cultural heritage. Our efforts have earned us the 2024 BC Tourism Industry Conference’s Community Contribution and Impact award and the 2024 Ecostar Award for Sustainable Workplace. Through partnerships and innovation, Prince of Whales continues to advance sustainable tourism while supporting local communities and ecosystems.
