ABOUT US
Ancient Wayves River and Hiking Adventures provides guided tours in the region of southeast Utah. We are a native-owned business registered with the Navajo Nation as an LLC. Our indigenous-run operation focuses on providing unique and memorable experiences for our guests. The tours we conduct are located in areas within the Bears Ears National Monument and the northern section of the Navajo Nation along the San Juan River. Our greater mission is to emphasize to our guests the importance of land, water, and culture preservation. We provide information to our guests about how the local tribes use and depend on the local resources such as water, wildlife, and plant life. Our guests come from all sections of the world. We hope that after our guests tour with us, they have a greater appreciation of the land and local indigenous cultures. Another mission is to bring awareness to the local tribes about the importance of land preservation and cultural practices for longevity of the people.

OUR IMPACT
Ancient Wayves River and Hiking Adventures is the only Native-owned business providing guided tours in the Bears Ears National Monument region. Our services are very unique from other outfitters in this area. We are permitted and able to operate on the Navajo Nation and on lands managed by the BLM and the State of Utah. Our guiding services emphasize land preservation. We encourage our employees and guests to be good stewards of the land. During our guided tours we abide by the "Leave No Trace" principles to preserve the landscape and to protect the cultural resources such as archaeological sites. Ancient Wayves' team of guides are from different tribes located in the region. Our guided tours are unique because we share our cultures with guests and promote the education of these existing cultures. Additionally, many of our staff are involved with helping the local community through volunteer efforts. We created a volunteer group called "Heat Dine Homes" and we help out the communities on the Navajo Nation with firewood, food, water, clothing, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
