Maui Cultural Lands
OUR EXPERIENCES
Visitors to the non-profit organization Maui Cultural Lands can partake in an immersive Hawaiian cultural experience in Honokowai Valley, surrounded by a wealth of archaeological sites in West Maui. We are dedicated to preserving the integrity of stone structures and botanical species that serve as storytellers of our history. Through shared time and information, volunteers gain a deeper understanding of the culture and processes, fostering a sense of fulfillment and a greater appreciation for who we are as a community.
ABOUT US
Maui Cultural Lands, Inc. is a grassroots land trust organization. Our mission is to stabilize, protect and restore Hawaiian cultural resources—and the success of our efforts depends upon volunteers like you!
OUR IMPACT
Volunteering at Maui Cultural Lands offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation of Hawaiian cultural heritage while engaging in meaningful conservation work. The experience allows volunteers of all ages, from 2 to 93 years old, to actively participate in outdoor activities within the rocky terrain of Honokowai Valley. By working in this environment, volunteers not only help maintain the integrity of archaeological sites and botanical species but also develop a deeper connection to the land and its history. Through hands-on involvement, volunteers gain a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment, knowing they are making a tangible difference in preserving a vital part of Maui's cultural landscape. Additionally, volunteering at Maui Cultural Lands provides a platform for personal growth, learning, and fostering a greater appreciation for the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
