Mt Blanc Fermes Péda

Discover the agricultural world through guided tours, farm-fresh meals, and workshops, while enjoying sustainable practices and reconnecting with nature.

OUR EXPERIENCES
We offer a range of experiences on working farms. Our association partners with several active farms to give visitors the opportunity to discover the agricultural world that feeds us, through guided tours, farm-fresh meals, and educational workshops.

ABOUT US
Four women are working hard from the small valley of Chamonix to open up the farms that produce our food. Today, many people have forgotten where their food comes from, and as a result, they often don’t know how to make informed choices in their daily lives. But understanding the realities of our producers is essential if we want to act with awareness and responsibility.

Every farm has a story. Without us, many farmers simply don’t have the time or resources to explain their work to tourists and groups. That’s where we step in—to connect people with the land, the food, and the hands that make it all possible.

OUR IMPACT
Mont Blanc Fermes Péda’s eco-pâturage initiative offers a sustainable alternative to mechanical land maintenance by using grazing animals—such as sheep, goats, and pigs—to manage overgrown or inaccessible areas. This natural method helps control invasive species like Japanese knotweed, enriches soil health, and transforms unused green spaces into productive forage for local agriculture, supporting the production of milk, wool, and other farm goods.

Beyond its ecological benefits, the program reconnects communities with farming by integrating animals into urban and private landscapes, raising awareness about sustainable practices. It also eases the burden on farmers by handling logistics and care, creating a low-impact, high-benefit system. Recent innovations, including pilot projects with pigs, reflect the project's ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible land management.
