Aillwee Burren Experience includes our fully guided Cave Tour, Birds of Prey Centre visit, interactive Flying Display & Burren Gold Cheesemaking, located in The Burren, Ballyvaughan, County Clare. Explore life underground in one of Ireland's most fascinating caves, Aillwee Cave, and unlock many secrets of The Burren through amazing underground and overground experiences.
ABOUT US
Our mission is to ensure visitors of all ages and abilities from home and overseas enjoy unique underground and overground Burren experiences in an informative, friendly, safe, and welcoming environment. We have been in business for 49 years, and the development of the cave and its surrounding 26-acre site has steadily and sustainably progressed over this time.
OUR IMPACT
At Aillwee Burren Experience, we continue to be committed to sustainable practices across all aspects of our operation for almost 50 years. We set annual environmental goals, comply with all relevant legislation, and actively reduce waste and water use through repair, reuse, recycling, and composting systems. Our team receive comprehensive training, and we promote environmental awareness among visitors, suppliers, and partners using the Leave No Trace principles. We support local and national charities, community initiatives, and conservation programmes. Our policies are openly shared, and we consistently monitor our environmental impact to ensure we meet our sustainability targets. We adhere to the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark Code of Practice and have sustained its highest Emerald Certification continually over the last decade.

What accommodations do you make for people living with disabilities?
Due to is natural underground formation, the cave tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or visitors with buggies. The cave passageway is narrow in parts and there are a set of steps within the tour. All other facilities are accessible.
