Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery

Ballykilcavan Farm and Brewery

Experience a guided tour of an 18th-century farm, taste award-winning beers, and learn about sustainable practices in a historic setting.

OUR EXPERIENCES
Our brewery has been located at Ballykilcavan Farm, our family home in the Midlands of Ireland, since 1639. Visitors can enjoy a private guided tour with David, the 13th-generation owner of Ballykilcavan. The tour includes a walk through the 18th-century stone farmyard, where the brewery is housed. David shares family stories, followed by a full brewery tour and a tasting of three award-winning beers.

ABOUT US
Ballykilcavan Farm has been our family home for 13 generations since 1639. By establishing a brewery and visitor center here—and operating both as sustainably as possible—we aim to secure the farm's financial and environmental future.

OUR IMPACT
Our brewery has won eight national sustainability awards and maintained Gold status in Origin Green since 2022. As one of the first tourism businesses approved under Fáilte Ireland's Climate Action Programme, we focus on renewable energy, waste reduction, biodiversity, and community support. Our brewery and visitor center generate more solar power than we consume, achieving net negative carbon emissions.

We support our local Pride group, sponsor sports teams, donate to charities, and offer our visitor center as a free community space. Housed in restored 18th-century farm buildings, our fully accessible brewery shares generations of family history with every tour.
