OUR EXPERIENCES
Murton Trust provides a unique and immersive experience for travel trade blending outdoor activities, education, and nature appreciation. Activities include Volunteering across all areas of our thriving nature reserve, Green Woodwork courses, Leather Work, Nature Walk and Talks, Evening Torch Walks and Animal Experiences. Prices start at £8 per person and we cater for groups as small as 3 up to 70 participants.

ABOUT US
Murton is a Charity with a dual educational and environmental purpose. Situated on a former quarry near Forfar, Angus we manage a thriving nature reserve, visitor farm and tearoom set in 100 acres. Murton aspires to enrich people’s lives by using our site to its full potential. We can offer our unique environment as an educational centre that offers a positive impact on all ages. We hope to be a thriving and sustainable charity valued in the community and recognised nationally.

• To effectively run a visitor farm and tearoom on our site that offers a recreational and leisure facility and generates income to support our educational work.

2023 Highlights include:
103 group sessions led by Murton staff engaging with schools, community groups and support organisations. 172 young individuals attended educational programmes. 2418 volunteering hours completed by young people at weekends and school holidays. 1028 volunteering hours completed by adults. 17 species of wildlife recorded on our wildlife cameras. 67 bird species recorded on site and submitted to BTO. 52 events delivered on the nature reserve. 1165 children and 657 adults attended our nature reserve events. 12 young people completed their John Muir Awards with us. Free entry to our nature reserve for all. 12 Health walks over 6 months. 543 free lunches and 955 free snacks were shared.

What accommodations do you make for people living with disabilities?
We have experience in successful barrier removal, providing adaptations and adjustments to allow participation in our activities and on our site. We have successfully engaged with individuals with visual and auditory impairments, physical disabilities, additional support needs and mental health challenges. We will happily discuss individual situations and support access to our services as best we can.
