Los Bohíos Campo Añil offers eco-friendly accommodations and immersive cultural experiences that highlight the richness of Dominican traditions. Travelers can stay in rustic, nature-inspired cabins, each named after the family that helped build it, as a tribute to the community’s contributions. Guests can enjoy authentic Dominican food prepared on a traditional fogón and participate in unique cultural workshops to learn how people used to make casabe on a clay burén and coffe using campo tools.
ABOUT US
Mission:
Our mission is to preserve and celebrate Dominican cultural heritage through sustainable tourism. We aim to provide authentic experiences that connect visitors with the traditions, flavors, and values of our community while promoting environmental stewardship and community empowerment.
Vision:
To become a leading example of eco-tourism in the Dominican Republic, recognized for our commitment to cultural preservation, sustainability, and meaningful connections between travelers and local communities. We envision a world where tourism supports local traditions, uplifts communities, and fosters a deep appreciation for cultural and natural heritage.
OUR IMPACT
We make a positive social impact by promoting sustainable tourism that directly benefits the local community and environment. Socially, we are a women-owned business that has been passed down from mother to daughter for three generations, empowering women in our community and preserving family traditions. We honor and involve local families by naming each cabin after those who helped build it, providing jobs, and preserving cultural practices like making casabe on a traditional clay burén. Environmentally, we prioritize eco-friendly practices, using natural materials for construction and maintaining green spaces to protect the region's biodiversity. By sharing these traditions with visitors, we help sustain cultural heritage while fostering environmental awareness.
