Just north of Nenagh, Brookfield Farm sits on scenic farmland along Lough Derg in County Tipperary. Visit our working organic farm for tours, agri-tourism experiences, and educational events. Explore wildflower meadows, learn about local wildlife and regenerative farming, and join award-winning farmer and beekeeper Ailbhe Gerrard to celebrate Ireland’s honey bee. Enjoy beeswax candle-making workshops and take home a handmade souvenir from our hive gift range.

ABOUT US
Brookfield Farm is a family-run, sustainable farm dedicated to producing artisan products and unforgettable visitor experiences. Ailbhe Gerrard, founder of Brookfield Farm, is a farmer, beekeeper, researcher, and agricultural educator with deep interest in regeneration. Seasonal farm activities culminating in the Field Exchange Festival in Autumn and creative agricultural Exchange days throughout the year.

OUR IMPACT
Brookfield Farm implements ACRES agri-environment measures to boost biodiversity with arable margins, bee, bird and bat boxes, and wild bird cover. These support local wildlife and are vital to regenerative farming, which restores soil, water, and biodiversity.

Field Exchange, an award-winning program at the farm, explores the connection between agriculture, creativity, and the biodiversity crisis. It supports rural communities in transitioning to sustainable farming through traditional skills like agroforestry, drystone walling, and rushwork.

Brookfield Farm has earned multiple awards, including the RDS Sustainable Farming Award (2019), Image/PWC Sustainability Champion (2024), and the Climate Ambassador Outstanding Achievement Award (2022). The Field Exchange Festival was specially commended in the 2024 RDS Rural Social Impact category.

Ailbhe Gerrard, also shares her expertise beyond the farm through the Acorns Rural Female Entrepreneur Program and media features in the Farmer’s Journal and Irish Times.

What accommodations do you make for people living with disabilities?
We welcome people living with disabilities and have an accessible building to welcome visitors. Most of the lakeshore farm is viewable from tarmac road. We have spectacular views of Lough Derg and landscape from the farmyard, which is wheelchair accessible.
