Casa Montaña

Casa Montaña

This traditional tapas and wine venue in Valencia offers a sustainable dining experience with local, organic dishes, promoting community and cultural heritage.

OUR EXPERIENCES
Casa Montaña is a traditional tapas and wine restaurant, founded in 1836. It has always been a family business closely linked to gastronomy and the city of Valencia, especially to the Cabanyal-Canyamelar maritime district.

ABOUT US
The mission is to preserve the Casa Montaña heritage by generating value through sustainable management, preserving its authenticity and unique character in harmony with its surroundings. The vision is focused on achieving national and international recognition as an example of management and a benchmark of quality, efficiency, and professionalism, founded on the values of solidarity, ethical integrity, rigor, and transparency.

OUR IMPACT
Since 2012, Casa Montaña has published an annual Sustainability Report based on the UN Global Compact and, since 2021, the GRI Standards. The report outlines the restaurant’s social responsibility efforts, focusing on nine prioritized Sustainable Development Goals. It sets short-, medium-, and long-term commitments aligned with economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Recent efforts have emphasized the value of the sea and Valencian gardens, with a seasonal menu featuring local, organic, and certified products, especially native agricultural varieties and seafood from the Valencian coast. The restaurant also prioritizes minimizing waste, training staff and customers, and using digital tools for sustainability.

Casa Montaña integrates sustainability into every aspect of its operations—from reducing its carbon footprint and supporting the HortiGo2 garden restoration project, to promoting local culture, gender equality (70% of staff are women), and work-life balance. It actively supports community initiatives such as local sports clubs and traditional festivities, and replaces marketing budgets with funding for cultural and social activities, reflecting its deep commitment to Valencia’s heritage and future.
