The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Hoof It Goat Treks, LLC
OUR EXPERIENCES
Hoof It Goat Treks in Galena, IL, is an experience where we share our land and goats with visitors. We take a herd of goats and groups of guests on a guided nature hike to explore the wooded property and prairies that have been in our family for four generations. The goats follow us along and enjoy hand-fed treats. The hike lasts an hour and covers 1.25 miles. The trail is suitable for all ages and most abilities.
We also offer other experiences:
Kid Camp: An immersive experience for children where they learn about life on the farm and the responsibilities of owning animals and land.
Forest Bathing and Journaling: A mindful focus and reflection while immersing yourself in the wonders of the forest. Be present in the moment and learn about forest bathing and grounding. Balance your body’s energy and reduce stress by physically connecting with the earth’s electromagnetic field.
Hoof It + Sip It (wine trek)
Hoof'n + Groove'n (live music and a bonfire)
Goats + Floats (root beer flight tasting and root beer float for the hike)
These experiences offer a unique way to connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of our land
ABOUT US
Our Mission: To enhance the appreciation of open spaces and land by offering unique experiences through education, engagement, and exploration.
OUR IMPACT
Hoof It Goat Treks strives to be a place where everyone can enjoy nature and experience a sense of calm and belonging while wandering through the forest with goats. We are inclusive of all guests, offering opportunities for those with accessibility limitations to enjoy the joy of nature and goats. We also aim to educate guests on the importance of open spaces and land management. The goats play a vital role in maintaining our property by helping control the spread of invasive plant species. Their eating habits allow us to naturally manage our land without the need for chemicals or machinery. Our property is managed organically and sustainably.
