Offbeat Travel
OUR EXPERIENCES
Offbeat Travel is a destination management company that provides culturally-immersive and eco-touristic travel in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. We are a full service operation providing lodging, transportation, full time guides, meals and activities to our clients. We also represent an array of travel brands through a white label approach.
ABOUT US
Offbeat Travel is committed to decolonizing travel and promoting equity by ensuring that local communities have ownership over the design, management, and economic benefits of tourism. We offer culturally immersive travel experiences in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, led by in-country teams with deep local roots.
We focus on supporting small businesses and providing travelers with authentic experiences, such as home-cooked meals, unique lodging, and excursions that showcase the culture, ecosystems, and communities we serve. Our work strives to create responsible, sustainable travel while addressing climate change and fostering the next generation of global leaders.
OUR IMPACT
At Offbeat Travel, impact is at the heart of our mission. We work with local communities to design and implement projects that meet their needs sustainably, involving community members in every step to ensure lasting benefits. We also engage our travelers by allowing them to contribute resources and volunteer time, enriching their personal journeys while making a positive impact. Through continuous monitoring and evaluation, we ensure these initiatives lead to measurable, long-term improvements in the communities we serve.
We are committed to environmental sustainability by reducing waste, avoiding single-use products, and partnering with eco-conscious vendors. Our work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we regularly publish an impact report to track and share our progress.
As a locally owned and operated company, we prioritize using local supply chains, supporting businesses like locally owned hotels, restaurants, and vendors, which reduces economic leakage and helps strengthen the local economy. Our efforts are further supported by partnerships with organizations like Travel Unity, ensuring that DEI best practices are woven throughout our operations.
