OUR EXPERIENCES
Hood Tours offers immersive experiences that highlight Asheville’s historically Black spaces—its neighborhoods, churches, businesses, and community institutions—through powerful storytelling, art, and lived history. Travelers witness a dynamic legacy of creativity, resilience, and self-determination while supporting local artists and social enterprises. Beginning in 2026, new tour options will expand these experiences to include nature-based and volunteer opportunities. At the nearby Peace Gardens & Market, visitors can explore a vibrant urban sanctuary filled with community art, regenerative gardens, and seasonal events that invite meaningful connection with the people and spirit of Asheville’s grassroots revival.

ABOUT US
Hood Tours and the Peace Gardens & Market restore connection between people, place, and purpose in Asheville’s historically Black community. Through storytelling, art, and regenerative practices, they celebrate culture, inspire resilience, and invite travelers to engage meaningfully in a living model of community healing, environmental stewardship, and social enterprise.

OUR IMPACT
Hood Tours and the Peace Gardens & Market model community-driven regeneration in Asheville’s historically Black Burton Street neighborhood. Our social enterprise reinvests tour revenue into local artists, youth employment, and neighborhood restoration—advancing equitable economic growth and cultural preservation. Through authentic storytelling and partnerships with local schools, faith centers, and grassroots groups, we strengthen community pride and intergenerational learning. The Peace Gardens serves as a living classroom and resiliency hub, combining environmental education, urban agriculture, and creative expression to demonstrate sustainable practices in action. Thousands of visitors and volunteers have engaged in garden builds, art installations, and service projects that restore both land and spirit. Together, these initiatives provide tangible benefits across all four impact areas—ethical governance, cultural continuity, environmental stewardship, and awareness-building that transforms both travelers and community members alike.
