Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
OUR EXPERIENCES
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) is a non-profit sanctuary and offers STEM education programs in the areas of biology, ecology and conservation. General Admission is perfect for those who like a self-guided experience via our scenic 1.5-mile loop, accessible by foot, by bike, or by car, while learning about our resident wildlife via interpretive signs at each animal habitat. AWCC encourages you to visit the center with your walking shoes and camera in hand for an educational Alaskan experience to remember. Tours are available.
ABOUT US
As a non-profit sanctuary the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. The sanctuary takes in injured and orphaned animals, year-round, and maintains over 200 acres of spacious habitats for animals to feel at home and display their natural wild behavior.
OUR IMPACT
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center donates over $15,000 annually to non-profits and community fundraisers in the form of educational tours, virtual tours, field trips, auction items, admission, and off-site presentations. AWCC works closely with the community and state officials to rescue wildlife and preserve natural environments. AWCC also works with partners on the annual Bear Aware campaign. AWCC was voted one of the 5 cultural pillars of Anchorage by the Anchorage Assembly, and we are a member of the Adventure Green initiative.
