Take to the Water CIC
OUR EXPERIENCES
Take to the Water specialises in cold-water dipping experiences in Scotland, inviting guests to connect with themselves, the natural environment, and local culinary delights. Each experience encourages participants to embrace the wellbeing benefits of cold water and the restorative power of nature, fostering confidence, empowerment, and a deeper connection to Scotland’s wild beauty. Volunteer opportunities exist in event organising and environmental clean-ups.
ABOUT US
Three pinned values are central to all that we do: Inclusive & Kind, Curious, and Empowered. We strive for our adventures to be as inclusive as possible, for everyone who embraces them to feel empowered, and for us all to remain curious about how we can enhance wellbeing and continually improve our experiences.
Tourism Cares note: A Community Interest Company (CIC) is a UK legal business structure designed to operate for public or community benefit, reinvesting most profits into its social mission rather than private gain.
IMPACT
Take to the Water is built on a culture of kindness toward people, animals, and the natural environments we visit. Environmental education sits at the centre of every activity, teaching participants how to enjoy wild spaces safely and with respect for local wildlife and habitats. Our tours and swims include shoreline litter picks, waterway clean-ups, and guidance on reducing pollution and disturbance to animals. By modelling responsible outdoor behaviour, we help swimmers understand how their choices protect fragile ecosystems. We also champion anti-drowning awareness and safe cold-water practices, ensuring people engage with nature confidently and responsibly. Through education, community action, and joyful connection to the outdoors, Take to the Water nurtures environmental stewardship and inspires participants to protect Scotland’s wild places long after they leave the water.
