ABOUT US
Artist Boat is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to promote awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.
OUR IMPACT
Artist Boat promotes a positive impact on Galveston Island primarily through Eco-Art educational programs for the public and through residencies at public schools teaching science and art. These programs help to educate and teach adults and students to be better stewards of our island, our ocean, and our planet. Our Eco-Art contests are designed to promote the awareness of trash barrels on our beaches through the Beautify the Bucket Art Contest, and the collection of trash from Galveston beaches through our Marine Debris Art Contest. We also beautify our surrounding communities through student created artworks and worked with the Galveston Park Board of Trustees to create Project S.I.T. (Scenic Interpretive Trail) that includes 70 tiled benches on the Galveston Seawall designed by community artists.
