Alaska Wildland Adventures

Alaska Wildland Adventures

Experience Alaska's stunning wilderness through small-group adventures, sustainable travel, and immersive nature education in breathtaking remote locations.

OUR EXPERIENCES
Exclusively Alaskan for over 45 years, Alaska Wildland Adventures (AWA) offers a wide range of ways to experience the Last Frontier. AWA’s three wilderness lodges—Kenai Riverside Lodge, Kenai Backcountry Lodge, and Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge—form the foundation of our all-inclusive Alaska Adventures, Lodge, and Fishing packages.

We hold fast to the core principle that Alaska is best experienced personally and respectfully, in a style that values the wilderness.

ABOUT US
Our core purpose is to provide guests with the highest quality, small-group, interactive experience in wild Alaska without compromising—or overemphasizing—comfort.

We aim to interpret the natural world with care and concern for the environment, while fostering a spirited and enthusiastic approach to work. We value mutual respect among staff, promote a family-like atmosphere, and seek to seriously enjoy our work while sharing the rewards of a well-run business.

OUR IMPACT
AWA follows the principles of responsible travel. Highlights of our approach include:

  • Trips that focus on visiting remote and relatively unaltered natural environments with a low impact on the ecosystem. We aim to ensure sustainable use over time without altering resources or diminishing the experience for others.

  • A strong educational emphasis to help travelers learn about the natural and cultural history of the areas we visit.

  • Direct benefits to the local economy and inhabitants, including rural and Native Alaskan groups. By supporting economic growth while protecting the natural environment, we encourage community support for preserving wild areas and wildlife habitats.

  • Commitment to small group travel to maintain the integrity of ecotourism and avoid overdevelopment.

  • A growing DEI and Justice Committee, striving to create and maintain a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment for visitors and staff alike.
