OUR EXPERIENCES
We offer immersive, bookable experiences that connect visitors with astronomy and nature. From guided OM Exhibition tours and celestial events like meteor viewings to night explorations such as Davagh Nightwalks, we bring the wonders of the universe to life. Our AstronOMy Club and Junior AstronOMy Club foster curiosity, while group tours and Stars and Stones Explored highlight the region’s astronomical and archaeological heritage. Seasonal events like the OM Odyssey Outdoor Film add to the experience, making astronomy accessible, educational, and inspiring for all.
ABOUT US
Here in Davagh Forest you will experience unrivalled and wondrous views of the night sky, one of only 78 places around the globe with official International Dark Sky accreditation due to lack of light pollution. It allows you to see the sky in an unique way and is suitable for all ages. We are the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland.
OUR IMPACT
Dark sky parks play a crucial role in protecting wildlife, conserving energy, and preserving natural ecosystems by minimizing light pollution. They help maintain natural light-dark cycles, reducing disruptions to nocturnal and migratory species, supporting biodiversity, and restoring predator-prey relationships. By limiting artificial lighting, these parks also lower energy consumption, reduce costs, and promote sustainable practices. Beyond environmental benefits, dark skies enhance natural beauty, support scientific research, improve human health, and create ecotourism opportunities. At OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory, we are committed to conservation, ensuring visitors experience the night sky in its purest form.
