Maui Pineapple Tour

Experience the sweetest pineapples in the world on a guided farm tour, featuring tastings, stunning views, and insights into sustainable agriculture.

OUR EXPERIENCES
The sweetest pineapple in the world is grown on Maui! The Maui Pineapple Tour is located upcountry on our breathtaking Hali’imaile farm on Maui, Hawaii. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the farm’s growing cycle and cultivation techniques of the sweetest pineapple in the world, learn about the shared history of the Hawaiian landscape and culture of the succulent fruit. The tour begins in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle that transports guests into the Maui Gold pineapple fields boasting panoramic ocean views. Our knowledgeable guides will explain pineapple planting and harvesting techniques, and show how our farmers still cultivate the fruit by hand. All guests will have the opportunity to taste fresh, machete-cut pineapple during the tour, as well as receive a free pineapple at the end of their tour. Maui Gold pineapples are approved and packaged for airport transport. Tours are available daily.

ABOUT US
Maui Gold Pineapple is prized for growing the sweetest pineapple in the world. For over fifty years, we've nurtured our crop on the slopes of Haleakala. Every step of the way, we personally monitor our pineapple growth to ensure that our fans receive the best pineapple they'll ever eat. We hand-harvest every pineapple to make sure they're picked at peak ripeness. The beautiful thing about running our pineapple farm is getting to share the experience and history of this one-of-a-kind fruit. On the Maui Pineapple Tour in the beautiful upcountry town of Hali’imaile, our guests have the opportunity to explore a working pineapple farm on a guided tour, taste the sweetness right in the field, and take home a complimentary pineapple.

"I have been working in the pineapple industry since I was a young man and it is my honor and pleasure to share my passion for local agriculture with both our local community and visitors alike. I hope you will join us during your visit to Maui and remember to eat local whenever possible. Maui has a vast array of locally grown produce that you can find on menus across the island, expertly prepared by our islands talented chefs. You can find Maui Gold Pineapple featured in cocktails and mocktails, accompanying locally caught fish preparations and of course on the sweetest dessert menus. Pineapple is often associated as a symbol of hospitality, and it is in that spirit that we welcome you to visit Maui with an open heart, an open mind and a willingness to share what you learn. Welcome to Maui Gold Pineapple."

OUR IMPACT
At Maui Pineapple Tour, we are deeply committed to sustainability and community engagement, focusing on responsible land management, regenerative agriculture, and education. Our initiatives include:

Sustainable Agriculture Practices
• Reef-Friendly Landscaping: In partnership with the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council, we have established a test plot treated with a biological soil amendment—a nutrient-rich, microbe-filled organic liquid produced locally by SoilThrive Hawaii LLC. This initiative aims to nourish crops, enrich the soil, and minimize chemical runoff, thereby protecting Maui's coral reefs and coastal ecosystems.
• Biodegradable Materials: We have transitioned from plastic bed covers to biodegradable alternatives and ensure that irrigation drip tapes are either reused or sent to the mainland for recycling, reducing our environmental footprint.

Community Support and Education
• Food Donations: We donate pineapples weekly to nonprofit partners, including the Maui Food Bank, to support local food security.
• Nonprofit Support: Annually, we assist hundreds of nonprofits by providing tour experiences and pineapple donations, contributing to various community initiatives.
• Educational Tours: Our farm tours offer visitors insights into sustainable agriculture and the significance of environmental stewardship, fostering awareness and education.
