Fork Real Community Café
OUR EXPERIENCES
We are a "pay what you can" cafe. We serve lunch 4 days a week from 11 am to 1:30 pm. We emphasize three main concepts:
- People - Anyone and everyone in the community is invited to enjoy a home-style meal in a welcoming environment regardless of their ability to pay.
- Food - Enjoy nutritious food using locally grown produce in a "farm to table" model building a stronger community.
- Conversation - Whether you’re sitting at a table for two or at a community table, food is the avenue for conversation.
ABOUT US
Fork Real Community Café is a vibrant and inviting place to enjoy fresh homestyle breakfast and lunch–a place where community is at the heart of our mission. What makes this café so special? When you purchase breakfast and lunch with us, you are helping us fight food insecurity in western South Dakota.
OUR IMPACT
Our visitor experience is unique because when you come to the café, you're not just receiving a meal, you're receiving real community engagement and a sense of belonging. The "pay what you can" concept allows customers a variety of options to pay for their meal. Patrons can: - Pay the value of the meal - Pay it forward by paying a little more, by paying for someone else’s meal, or purchase meal tokens - Volunteer in exchange for a meal This concept is modeled after One World Everybody Eats, an organization that has a network of over 60 cafes operating throughout the United States.
