The Global Meaningful Travel Map
The ReefLine
**The ReefLine will open with Phase 1 in Summer 2025, so we wanted to highlight that this will officially mark the opening of The ReefLine.
OUR EXPERIENCES
The ReefLine will be a new 7-mile underwater public sculpture park, snorkel trail, and hybrid reef off the shoreline of Miami Beach. It will be developed in phases, with permanent underwater sculptures designed to function as hybrid coral reefs. The transplantation and growth of local corals on these sculptures are being overseen by aquaculturists from Coral Morphologic. As the sculptures are deployed, they will support coral regrowth in the ocean through artistic interventions.
This unique project, at the intersection of art and science, will raise awareness of the climate crisis in Miami Beach, using art in service of the community.
ABOUT US
The ReefLine (501(c)(3)) is a nonprofit dedicated to restoring Miami’s marine ecosystem and raising environmental awareness through art and conservation.
Our mission is to drive local change with a global vision, revitalizing the Florida Reef Tract—the world’s third-largest reef system—impacted by urban expansion and ecological degradation.
Through a curated master plan, we install hybrid reef structures and environmental art that serve as natural habitats, providing corals a stable ground to regenerate while enhancing marine biodiversity and resilience.
By merging art, science, and conservation, The ReefLine fosters public awareness and community engagement in ocean preservation, paving the way for a sustainable future where nature and society thrive together.
OUR IMPACT
The ReefLine project is founded on the principle that artistic creation can drive nature-positive technoscientific innovation and the financial investment it requires. The allure of high culture alone could make The ReefLine the world’s most visited purpose-built reef, fueling economic growth through marine ecotourism. This influx of resources would support enhanced ecological monitoring, resilience testing, coral out-planting initiatives, and further technical development.
