Whatley Manor is a place to escape the everyday: a country manor house hotel in the Cotswolds, set in 12 acres of gardens, including a Kitchen Garden. Guests can enjoy seasonal menus in the Michelin-starred restaurant or share informal dining at Grey’s. Aquarias Spa offers a sanctuary for renewal, with expertly delivered face and body treatments. Sustainability practices help ensure every bit of luxury is in harmony with the planet.

IMPACT
Whatley Manor’s sustainability journey began in 2019 in collaboration with NOW Transforming Hospitality and EarthCheck. In 2026, it became the first independent hotel in the UK to achieve EarthCheck Gold Certification, recognizing at least five consecutive years of certification with independent performance audits.
Through renewable electricity, biogas, and operational improvements, the hotel reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from 68.5 kg CO₂ per guest night to 0.36 kg in 2024. Total Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions in 2025 were 38.5% lower than the 2022 baseline.
The hotel also supports team wellbeing through wellbeing days, charity volunteering, and enhanced employee benefits. It works with suppliers to improve environmental and social performance and provides sustainability training and awareness programmes for employees, guests, and suppliers. Other initiatives include waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and energy-efficiency investments.
