The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Casa Rural Etxegorri
OUR EXPERIENCES
Casa Rural Etxegorri is an eco hideaway in Gorbeia Natural Park, a leading destination for ecotourism and slow travel. The house is strongly committed to sustainability: renewable energies, recycled materials, and organic, zero-kilometre products that support local producers and reduce its carbon footprint. Gorbeia Natural Park and Casa Rural Etxegorri are certified under the Natura 2000 Sustainable Tourism Recognition System, which guarantees that tourism activities respect natural values and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the territory. Forest walks, waterfalls, silence, and local gastronomy invite guests to reconnect with nature through authentic experiences that care for the land while allowing them to truly unwind.
ABOUT US
Casa Rural Etxegorri is a family-run country house located in Gorbeia Natural Park, offering six charming rooms in a peaceful rural setting. Our mission is to provide a warm, quiet place where guests can slow down, disconnect, and reconnect with nature through personalized hospitality and authentic local experiences. We are strongly committed to responsible tourism: integrating the house into the landscape, reducing waste, saving energy, using efficient systems, and prioritizing organic, zero-kilometre products that support local producers and preserve Gorbeia’s natural and cultural heritage.
IMPACT
We generate measurable impact across governance, environment, community and awareness. As a family business, we embed sustainability in our model through a Climate Action Plan aligned with the Glasgow Declaration, annual carbon footprint measurement and concrete decarbonisation actions (renewable electricity, aerothermal heating, solar PV). Environmentally, we minimise waste, compost organics, use LED lighting, efficient appliances and integrate the house into the Gorbeia landscape. Socially, our Zenbat KM project prioritises local, organic producers and circular economy, strengthening rural livelihoods. Through interpretation of Gorbeia’s values, guest communication and our adherence to the Basquetour Code of Ethics, we promote responsible, value-driven tourism in Euskadi.
