Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary
OUR EXPERIENCES
We are a non-profit Sanctuary dedicated to driving public awareness and education surrounding responsible wolfdog ownership and conservation of wolves in the wild. Our passionate group of animal lovers delivers onsite educational programs, informational resources and assists in homing wolfdogs that have been neglected, abandoned, or otherwise displaced. Located near Cochrane, Alberta on 160 acres of land, our Sanctuary is open to the public and currently has a total of 43 permanent wolfdogs.
ABOUT US
Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and safe sanctuary of displaced wolfdogs. Our mission is to provide the animals in our care with the best possible home suited for their specialized needs and to provide education and awareness on wolfdogs. The Sanctuary offers a variety of tours with the purpose to educate the public on the unique relationship between wolfdogs and humans, as well as to raise awareness regarding wolf conservation. All proceeds from the tours directly fund the Sanctuary and its continued rescue efforts.
OUR IMPACT
Wolfdogs and wolves are often misunderstood, exploited and not given the care and respect they deserve. Our goal at Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is to create an impactful experience for both the wolfdogs in our care and our visitors to bridge the gap between them. By providing exemplary care to our rescued wolfdogs and teaching people all the unique characteristics of these wonderful animals, we are able to create a lasting impact for both the animals and the people who come to learn about them.
