Posada San Marcos is an adults-only eco-retreat in the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park, where sustainability and luxury coexist. Our vision is rooted in the belief that true luxury lies in meaningful experiences, warm hospitality, and a deep respect for the environment. With over 20 years of local expertise, we provide a gateway to "Spain's best-kept secret" through curated experiences centered on tasting, learning, and staying active.

Our mission is defined by the joy of sharing and giving. We share our time and environmental passion with guests while giving back to our community by employing and buying locally. Featuring six individually designed ensuite rooms that blend time-honored tradition with modern comforts like ground-source underfloor climate control, we offer a peaceful, low-carbon escape. IMPACT

At Posada San Marcos, our impact is woven into every stay. As the first retreat in Andalucía to earn the European Ecolabel in 2019, we demonstrate that high-end comfort can coexist with environmental stewardship. We operate as an owner-built, family-run retreat committed to protecting the character of Alájar through sustainable tourism. Our low-carbon model includes geothermal heating and cooling, solar power with storage, 100% renewable electricity, energy-efficient systems, and circular waste practices, including composting. We strengthen the local economy by hiring locally and sourcing organic ingredients from nearby farms while promoting slow tourism that benefits small producers. Through our partnership with the Lutra Association, guest donations support conservation projects in the Natural Park, and we educate visitors about heritage-friendly travel and low-impact hiking through check-in briefings and in-room guidance.
