Our diverse activities are intricately connected with the families and women of the community. Our activities, deeply linked with local families and women, include weaving, cooking, and natural medicine experiences. Run by the community's women, the Sinchi Warmi association shares its history with visitors. As a non-profit organization, we offer opportunities for volunteers to live with families through a homestay exchange program for 6 months or 1 year. Volunteer activities range from constructing ancestral homes, organic gardening, and community work to teaching languages, and providing educational support. Whether aiding reception, waitstaff, or offering guidance support, volunteers contribute to the community's well-being. English documentation, translation, and species research along the wetland trail further enrich our commitment to community development and environmental preservation.

ABOUT US
Founded in 2002, the women of San Pedro de Misahualli united to support their families, giving rise to a women's group seeking economic alternatives through various activities like cooking, sewing, baking, crafts, and organic agriculture. Over the years, their leadership and expertise garnered national and international recognition, showcasing significant empowerment. Today, as Sinchi Warmi, we are a forward-moving organization focused on community-based tourism. Our offerings include unique activities and high-quality services in accommodations, food and beverages, and natural and cultural interpretation. Sinchi Warmi is a Kichwa tourism company with a mission to generate well-being and transformation, led by resilient women who preserve their culture, nurture nature, and uphold the Amazonian ancestral worldview. Looking ahead to 2028, we envision being a consolidated tourism model of equal opportunities that integrates different generations, preserves the territory, and sustains the ancestral worldview for the well-being of hosts and travelers alike.

OUR IMPACT
Dedicated to fostering community cooperation, we actively encourage collaboration among our members and with neighboring communities to ensure the equitable distribution of opportunities and benefits arising from our community tourism initiatives. Environmental responsibility is at the core of our values as we cultivate awareness and practice sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity. We advocate for land rights and the protection of our ancestral territory. Economically, our approach integrates efficient management goals and tools in the use and valuation of tourism-related resources, with a focus on generating quality employment for both women and men engaged in tourism operations. Furthermore, our commitment to cultural enrichment guides us in promoting high-quality intercultural experiences and interactions between visitors and the host community. We prioritize the respect of local cultural expressions and the preservation of cultural identity, ensuring a mutually enriching experience for all involved.
