Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum

Explore rich local history and culture through engaging exhibits, educational programs, and inclusive accessibility features for all visitors.

OUR EXPERIENCES
Osceola History is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Osceola County. We operate two museums: The Welcome Center & History Museum and Pioneer Village. Both museums are open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering visitors a chance to explore the rich history of the county. We also provide a variety of educational programs, including field trips for schools and homeschools, as well as group tours. Additionally, we offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities, such as becoming a tour guide, serving as a historical interpreter, or assisting with museum upkeep.

ABOUT US
The mission of Osceola History is to collect, preserve, and share the County’s history, promoting the area’s cultural and natural heritage.

OUR IMPACT
At Pioneer Village, we are committed to preserving the natural environment and maintaining the integrity of the land. Both museums are fully wheelchair accessible, and we provide colorblind glasses for those who need them. Additionally, we have QR codes available on the museum didactics that link to audio-guided tours, and we also collaborate with a local organization to offer sign language interpreters for visitors. We are also proud to partner with the Opportunity Center, a local organization that supports adults with disabilities. Every Tuesday, they assist with the cleaning of our museum, providing valuable community service opportunities.
Our museums are inclusive spaces, welcoming visitors of all races, ethnicities, genders, and abilities. We honor the significant contributions of African American and Hispanic communities through our exhibits. The Welcome Center & History Museum offers free admission, while Pioneer Village provides a SNAP discount to ensure access for all.
