The Global Meaningful Travel Map
Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC)
OUR EXPERIENCES
Founded through a partnership with Nova Southeastern University and Broward County in 2017, the Marine Environmental Education Center (MEEC) offers visitors many ways to connect with South Florida’s coastal environment. Guests can explore indoor and outdoor conservation exhibits, meet animal residents, attend daily public programs, and participate in special events and workshops. The highlight of many visits is the daily feeding of the MEEC’s two resident sea turtles—a loggerhead and a green turtle—where guests learn their rehabilitation stories and discover ways people can support marine conservation.
ABOUT US
The MEEC’s mission is to connect guests, both locally and internationally, with our planet through interactive learning experiences that inspire individual paths toward environmental health and resiliency.
