OUR EXPERIENCES

We offer a variety of guided tours to suit the interests and activity levels of all our guests, from school children to casual visitors to passionate conservationists. We also propose different types of programs for volunteers.

ABOUT US

Our mission is to safeguard Lao wildlife by addressing the illegal wildlife trade at its roots through education, awareness, and enforcement. We work jointly with stakeholders to prevent exploitation, while also rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing affected animals. Through capacity building, outreach, and collaboration, we aim to create lasting change for wildlife and communities.

IMPACT

The Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife works on the frontline of conservation in Laos, combating the illegal wildlife trade while restoring native species and strengthening long-term protection efforts. Central to this work is the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of Lao wildlife affected by trafficking and exploitation. In close collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Investigation, LCTW provides veterinary care, behavioral rehabilitation, and preparation for release, returning animals to protected forest habitats whenever possible. Post-release monitoring using camera traps supports survival tracking and the development of best-practice wildlife release models in Laos.

Beyond rescue, LCTW advances habitat protection and biodiversity research through forest assessments, surveys, and conservation breeding programs that reinforce threatened populations. Community engagement is essential to this impact. LCTW operates Laos’ only Wildlife Rescue Hotline (1601), enabling anonymous public reporting and cooperation with authorities. Education is woven throughout all programs, fostering awareness, empathy, and lasting behavioral change that benefits wildlife, ecosystems, and local communities.
