Yarrow Cookery School

Experience hands-on Scottish cooking in a state-of-the-art facility near Edinburgh, featuring local produce, a relaxing dining area, and eco-friendly practices.

OUR EXPERIENCES
CREATING MEMORIES THROUGH COOKING AND CONNECTION
Founded by Richard and Sophia Yarrow, the School began with online classes that quickly gained popularity for their focus on local, joyful, from-scratch cookery. As demand grew, so did the vision. Now housed in a beautifully converted state-of-the-art facility we offer a dynamic space where guests can immerse themselves in the art of cookery. The facility also has a relaxing dining space, and fun bar area for guests to enjoy and is completely wheelchair accessible.

Located just 12 miles from Edinburgh and a two minute walk to the train station, the Yarrow Cookery School offers easy access. The school has free parking with electric vehicle charging stations. The steading has a range of amenities for guests to meander and enjoy.

Our Trade Exclusive Experiences celebrate Scottish produce and can be easily tailored to meet unique wishes. Each session provides the joy of hands-on cooking, where guests craft every dish from scratch. Highlights include:
- Haggis bon-bons and whisky tasting (1 hour)
- Scottish afternoon tea (2 hours)
- Scottish Cocktails and Canapes (2 hours)
- East Lothian venison Wellington (4 ½ hours)
- East Lothian field to fork (4 ½ hours)
- Great British pies & ales (4 ½ hours)
- Local Scottish seafood featuring sustainable North Berwick lobster (4 ½ hours)

ABOUT US
We believe in the power of food to connect people, nourish communities, and create lasting memories. We started this journey with a passion for sustainable, creative cooking that brings people together and makes a positive social impact.

OUR IMPACT
The Yarrow Cookery School is a fossil fuel free space that was able to expand due its inclusion in the East Lothian net zero pilot scheme and so offers a greener approach to tourist experiences. We believe in the power to change and so offer free spaces on all kids' and teens' courses for lower-income households which supports and benefits all aspects of a child's development and ability to thrive whilst also having a wider impact on the local community.
