ABOUT US
The National Trust for Scotland is the proud guardian and largest protector of Scotland's assets, and we offer a unique insight into its magnificent stories, places, and people. As a conservation charity, our purpose is to care for, share, and speak up for Scotland’s magnificent heritage. Since 1931, we’ve pioneered public access to and shared ownership of some of the most magnificent buildings, collections, and habitats in Scotland. We care for ancient houses, battlefields, castles, mills, gardens, coastlines, islands, mountain ranges, and all the communities, plants, and animals that depend upon them. By choosing to work with us, you are directly contributing to supporting our rangers, conservation experts, property teams, and volunteers committed to caring for our buildings, protecting our mountains and wildlife, and engaging people with our past - inspiring a Love for Scotland.

OUR IMPACT
A travel trade visit to Inverewe Garden is not only a beautiful experience, but also an opportunity to learn and feel how we combat the effects of climate change at a local level. With the support of our visitors, we can carry out essential conservation work and vital projects to protect our natural and cultural environment. At Inverewe, we care for the mosaic landscape habitats in this spectacular estate, which is home to Scotland's most iconic wildlife, including red deer, eagles, pine martins, otters, and red squirrels. It also includes Scotland's Coral Reef - Inverewe's underwater garden, which is a nationally important seabed and a special place for marine wildlife. Inverewe now has a state-of-the-art composting system, which we have been able to expand so that we can process all catering, retail, and office waste. In our restaurant, all guests eat from compostable tableware, which goes from plate to garden in 6-10 weeks, and a member of our team is always on hand to guide our guests on how to use the bespoke recycling system.
