The Burrell Collection
OUR EXPERIENCES
The Burrell Collection, a cherished museum in Glasgow, displays over 9,000 objects generously gifted by Sir William Burrell and Lady Constance. Nestled in a purpose-built home within a picturesque Pollok country park, our collection spans Ancient Civilisations, Decorative and Fine Art, Chinese, Islamic, and Medieval and Renaissance Art. Travel trade partners can offer clients unforgettable experiences, including exclusive early-access tours, evening tours, and behind-the-scenes tours, providing VIP access to thousands of objects not on public display.
ABOUT US
Glasgow Life, a registered Scottish Charity, is committed to enhancing the well-being of everyone in Glasgow through culture and sport. We contribute to the city's visitor economy, reinforcing its reputation as a fantastic place to live, work, learn, and visit. Our cultural and sports programs generate funds that are reinvested in charitable activities supporting our vision.
OUR IMPACT
Over the past decade, Glasgow Life, through its diverse programs and initiatives, has collaborated with over 15,000 individuals from various backgrounds, including organizations, community groups, and local schools. This collaborative effort has significantly influenced the design of displays, storytelling, accessibility, and sustainability at the Burrell Museum. By engaging with local groups, the art collected by Sir William has been reinterpreted to reflect the stories and values important to our community. This inclusive approach has shaped public and school engagement programs, directly contributing to the protection of Glasgow's cultural collections for both local residents and visitors.
